I’m originally from Houston, TX and currently residing in San Francisco, CA. In 2011 I made the biggest decision of my life and drove west to California to evolve and take my career to the next level. Since then I've studied computer science in Santa Barbara and am now a front-end web developer at Cumulus Networks in the heart of Silicon Valley.
I think simple, modern and meaningful designs are the best. The user should always be in the forefront of the project. I ask questions about them; for example, what information will they come here for? Are they getting that information and understanding the layout easily? Working in a highly-regulated industry has also taught me to gather requirements early on from stakeholders (i.e. legal, product and marketing teams).
I like to make creative decisions like setting up a style guide and enjoy working collaboratively with designers, developers and content writers. After decisions have been made, I dive into sketches and wireframes that will later become more visual design comps. If a prototype is needed for review sessions, I like using InVision.
